When Sven arrived at the RSPCA, he was severely underweight and looked almost bald; the future looked bleak for the German Shepherd.

He’d been taken into the RSPCA’s care due to concerns about his welfare.

Incredible transformation

Yet, through the unwavering dedication of staff at RSPCA Blackberry Farm Animal Centre and RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre and Hospital, Sven has undergone a remarkable transformation.

The German Shepherd has gained weight and has returned his handsome good looks.

Despite his initial struggles, Sven is a typical German Shepherd who is incredibly loyal, as shown by the strong bonds he has formed with his caregivers.

New home hope for Sven

He LOVES lots of attention and affection, food and toys. He has a lovely, gentle, sweet nature and is eager to learn new things. However, the handsome boy can struggle to be around other dogs and is learning to walk past other dogs without barking.

Here's Sven's incredible before and after, showing just what a difference some TLC can make:

Following his recovery, Sven is now seeking a forever home, preferably with children aged twelve and older. He requires a household without resident cats and should be the only canine companion. Prospective adopters should ideally have experience with larger breeds and live in a fairly quiet area with access to secluded walking areas away from other dogs.
